Top 10 online casinos: is a selection really possible?

The phrase "best online casinos" is among the most abused on the web: a search for it returns thousands of pages, all certain of the answer, and the answer tends to coincide with the operator that pays the highest commission that month. Hence the question in our title. A selection is possible, in our view, only when its criteria are declared, its limits admitted and its commissions disclosed (which is the case on this page).

The list below holds the casinos that we consider the soundest among our partners, in an order fixed by judgement in October 2026 and not by measurement, since no site could measure every house without depositing at each of them. Each was tried in "demo" mode (free play, without depositing), its terms were read and its licence looked up on the register, as the About page explains.

Ad disclosure: some casino links are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never affects our ratings. 18+.

Markets

Markets: the operators listed on our pages address the international, non-regulated market and do not hold a licence in every country from which our readers arrive: before registering, it is the player's responsibility to check that the law of the country in which he or she is located allows playing with that operator.

The criteria, one by one

The first criterion is the licence, or rather the frame it belongs to: a permit from the UK Gambling Commission, from the Malta Gaming Authority or from iGaming Ontario (with the AGCO, since April 2022) brings a complaints path and separated player funds, while a permit from Curaçao or Anjouan (the "offshore" licences of the trade) certifies that a company exists and little else. Where the licence is only offshore, we say so and the rating stays between 2.5 and 3.5, whatever the offer.

The second criterion is the terms, read in full and not in the "headline", because the "wagering" (the volume of bets required before a withdrawal), the "max bet" allowed while a bonus is active and the "max cashout" (the ceiling on what a bonus can pay) weigh more than any percentage. A player who receives $100 under thirty-five times on the bonus alone must bet $3,500, and under the same multiple on deposit and bonus together, $7,000!

The third is the speed of payments, reported as published, since we did not withdraw: the "banking" page of each operator gives the processing time (usually one to three working days, plus the method's own), the limits and the fees. A house that hides that page has already told you something! The fourth is the catalogue, counted in studios rather than in titles, because five hundred games from two studios are less than three hundred from ten.

The fifth is support, judged by the hours published ("24/7" or office hours), the channels ("live chat", e-mail, sometimes the telephone) and the languages served, not by a test, since none was made and none is claimed. The sixth is reputation in public sources: the registers, the sanctions that the UK Gambling Commission publishes, the accounts of the listed parent companies (Super Group, Evoke) and the complaints forums, read with the care that every forum deserves.

The seventh is the "demo" test itself, which shows how the "lobby" is organised, whether the "RTP" (the theoretical return to the player) is printed in each game's panel, where the responsible-gambling tools sit and how the terms are presented. It shows nothing about deposits, withdrawals or support. Two casinos, Casino Classic and Jackpot City, were also played with real money by our collaborators from two Canadian markets, before 2025, and their reviews say so.

The list, in our order

Every figure below is the operator's published offer at the time of writing (October 2026), which can change without notice, and the "T&Cs" shown on the casino's own page at registration prevail over anything you read here. The older names needed no presentation, so their paragraphs say what distinguishes them, while the younger ones carry the warnings that their age and their licence deserve.

  • 888 Casino

    888 casino

    $/€88 no deposit welcome bonus

888 Casino has been online since 1997, by the operator's own account, on software that was proprietary from the start and to which the games of NetEnt, Games Global and Pragmatic Play were added over the years; its parent company, 888 Holdings (listed in London, renamed Evoke in 2024), holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission, from Gibraltar and from the Malta Gaming Authority among others, and the house has collected awards from the trade press (the EGR Operator Awards among them) for more than a decade. The $88 "no deposit" offer, where it is available, is the oldest free offer still alive on the web, and its terms (a "max cashout" and a wagering on the winnings) are the ones to read before registering, as our 888 Casino review does.

  • JackpotCity Casino

    jackpot city casino

Twenty-five years of operation and a package of $1,600

Jackpot City opened in 2001, in the stable that the trade called Palace Group and that belongs today to Super Group (listed in New York, the owner of Betway), with the games of Games Global (formerly Microgaming) at its core and the studios that publish through it around them; the site and the support are offered in more than twenty languages, which made the brand a pioneer of the multilingual casino. The welcome package of $1,600 over four deposits has lasted for years beside temporary offers, such as fifty "free spins" without deposit on the slot Boom Galaxy, and the licences declared are the Malta Gaming Authority and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, with national licences where the operator holds them; it is one of the two casinos on this site tested with real play, by our collaborators from two Canadian markets before 2025, as its review tells.

  • Casino Classic

    casino classic

A "classic" that still offers a free chance at a jackpot

Casino Classic belongs to the Casino Rewards group, whose brands (Captain Cooks, Zodiac, Yukon Gold and Luxury Casino among others) have been online since the turn of the century under a licence from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and share one loyalty programme, and it holds its place here as the tested exception: our collaborators from two Canadian markets played it with real money before 2025, from registration to withdrawal. Its first "no deposit" offer, more than fifteen years ago, gave $500 to play for sixty minutes on a "light" version of the software (in those days the casino had to be downloaded), with the winnings transferred to the real account if the balance was positive at the end; that promotion is gone, and today's offer is one free chance at a progressive jackpot on registration, with the terms that our Casino Classic review sets out.

  • Prime Slots

    Prime Slots

A €131 bonus and 123 spins on the first deposit

Prime Slots, as the name says, was among the first casinos to build its whole lobby around the slot machine, gathering the games of many studios at a time when most houses ran on one, and its catalogue counts more than 1,500 titles today, with a section of sixty-four scratch cards and a live casino beside them. The operator is Skill On Net Limited of Malta (licence MGA/CRP/171/2009/01, printed in the footer and issued by the Malta Gaming Authority), and the welcome offer is built on "free spins", 123 of them on the first deposit according to the page we reached, with a wagering on the winnings of the spins that it is worth reading before the deposit, since the spins are the part that is advertised and the wagering the part that counts.

  • Betway Casino & Sports

    betway

From the live casino to esports under one account

Betway started in 2006 as a bookmaker and grew into one of the broadest portals of the sector, in which one account opens the sportsbook, the "esports" markets, the casino with the games of Games Global and of other studios, a live casino and a "Vegas" section of slots; it belongs to Super Group, the company listed in New York that also owns Jackpot City, and it holds licences from the UK Gambling Commission, from the Malta Gaming Authority and from several national regulators. The brand has sponsored football clubs in England (West Ham United among them) for years, which says something about its budget and nothing about its terms, which our Betway review reads clause by clause. 18+ | Gambling Therapy | Bonuses under T&Cs

  • Jackpot City

    Jackpot City

The version rebuilt for the telephone

Jackpot City's second strength, beside its age, is the version that the Palace stable rebuilt for the telephone: the whole catalogue (the slots, the tables, the live dealer rooms and the progressive network of Mega Moolah, whose running totals are shown in the lobby) opens in the browser of a phone without an "app" from a store, with the same account and the same cashier as on a desktop. The welcome package and the free spins are the operator's published offers, which change, and the terms shown at registration prevail over this page, as they do for every house on this list.

  • Lucky Days Casino

    Lucky Days Casino

A young casino that grew market by market

Lucky Days is one of the youngest houses on this list, licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, registered in Ontario for that market and licensed by Kahnawake for the rest of Canada, and it grew quickly by serving each language market with its own version of the site after an early success in Asia; the catalogue gathers the studios of the moment, from Games Global to Pragmatic Play and Play'n GO, in a lobby that we found quick and plain in demo. The published welcome offer is a package of up to $1,000 with 100 "free spins" on the first deposit, and the wagering that applies to it is set out in our Lucky Days review.

  • SpinGenie

    Spingenie
    Visit CasinoSpin Genie

108 extra spins from the operator of Prime Slots

Spin Genie is a younger brand of the operator behind Prime Slots (Skill On Net Limited, licensed in Malta and, for the British site, by the UK Gambling Commission), and it shares with it a lobby of more than 1,500 slots from some twenty studios and a welcome offer built on spins, 108 extra spins on the first deposit according to the page we reached. The operator applies a strict policy towards countries that have their own regulation: a player who connects from a country where Spin Genie holds no national licence is not even shown the site, which is a limit for some readers and a reassurance for others.

  • LegendPlay Casino

    Legend Play
    Visit CasinoLegend Play

A recent casino with a Curaçao licence, and our warning

Legend Play is the most recent and the riskiest name on this list, and we say so plainly: it operates under a licence from Curaçao and no other, which certifies that a company exists and has paid for a permit but gives the player no regulator that answers complaints within a set time, and for this reason our rating for houses of this kind stays between 2.5 and 3.5 whatever their offers, and we would deposit there only sums whose loss would not matter. The house offers a casino, a live casino and a sportsbook under one account, its welcome offer is the operator's published one and changes, and its history is too short for the reputation that the older names above have earned over two decades; many casinos started that way and lasted, which is a hope, not a guarantee.

The honest limits of any top 10

A ranking of casinos has three limits that no method removes, and it seems to us more honest to name them than to hide them behind "tested" badges. The first is that nobody tests every house with real money in every market, so part of every judgement rests on documents and public sources, and each review says in its first lines what was done.

The second limit is time: a "no deposit" offer printed in October can be withdrawn in November, a licence can lapse, an operator can change hands (Microgaming's games became Games Global's between 2021 and 2022, Spin Palace became Spin Casino in 2019), and a page dated today is already yesterday's for a reader who arrives next spring. The third is the commission, disclosed on every page; it never decides the order, and it is still worth keeping in mind.

Operators also leave this list on leaving the partnership, or on closing, as several houses once listed here have done (two closed houses of this list now send their traffic to Luxury Casino); their reviews stay online as historical records, for the benefit of a reader in search of the record and not of a current offer.

For these reasons the list stays shorter than its title when there is nothing to put in a place, since an empty place is better than a house that nobody here has tried. The order is an opinion that two members of the editorial team would not always share; what we can promise is that no name was added for its commission and none removed for the lack of one.

How to use this list

The first name is not the answer for everyone. The right casino depends on the country from which you connect (it decides the licence that covers the account and the methods in the cashier), on the games preferred and on the budget: a $10 "minimum deposit" and a low wagering serve a modest player better than the largest "welcome package". The review of each house says which licence applies from where and what the terms require.

The "welcome bonus", moreover, is the least important page of a casino once the first month has passed, while the cashier, the support and the handling of complaints matter for years. Our guide to legitimate online casinos explains how a licence is read on its register, and the page on welcome bonuses compares two packages with the same headline and different terms (with the calculations).

The words "exclusive", "verified" and "tested", so frequent on lists of this kind, mean nothing without the name of the tester and the date of the test. Our pages use them only in a review naming the test, and the offers behind our links are the ones granted to every affiliate, unless the review says otherwise.

No deposit bonus lists by region

The offers without deposit differ by region, because the operators grant them where their licences and their margins allow, so the site keeps separate lists (Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe) and one page of "free spins" and free play, each of which opens with one honest paragraph on the regulation of its market.

More casino reviews

The reviews below follow one method (demo play, terms read, licence checked on the register, real play only where the review says so) and end with a conservative rating framed by the licence. The operators that are no longer among our partners keep their pages as historical records, marked as such.

Frequently asked questions

There is no single answer, because the right casino depends on the country of connection, on the games and on the budget. 888 Casino and Jackpot City open the list for their licences and their age, but a reader in Canada or in the United Kingdom will find a closer comparison on the regional pages.

Every casino was tried in "demo" mode (free play, without depositing) by the editorial team, which also read the terms and checked the licence on the register. Only Casino Classic and Jackpot City were played with real money, by our collaborators from two Canadian markets before 2025, and no other review claims a deposit or a withdrawal.

Because it is an opinion, not a measurement. The first and the ninth names differ in licence frame and in age, which are facts, while the order between two houses of the same frame reflects our judgement of their terms and reputation in October 2026, one that another editorial team could reasonably reverse.

A Curaçao licence certifies that a company exists and has paid for a permit (since 24 December 2024 the Curaçao Gaming Authority licenses operators directly, under the new ordinance), but it gives the player no regulator that is bound to answer complaints within a set time; such houses show between 2.5 and 3.5 on these pages, with a warning in the text.

No: the links marked as affiliate links pay us a commission at no cost to you, and the order was decided on licence, terms, catalogue, support hours, reputation and demo tests, as the About page explains, so that a house which paid more would not move up a place.

Three things, in this order: the law of your country (the markets box above is not a formality), the licence printed in the footer of the site as reached from your country, and the terms of the offer ("wagering", "max bet", "max cashout", time limit), since they prevail over anything written here.
