Online casinos licensed in Great Britain: the operators we work with
Since 1 November 2014 every company offering casino games, bingo or bets to people in Great Britain has needed a licence of the Gambling Commission, wherever its servers stand, so that a player in Leeds or Glasgow can learn in a minute whether a site answers to a British regulator (a check that few other markets make so simple).
This page names the licensed operators with which we work: twenty brands of six licence holders, each found on the public register of the Commission on 3 November 2026, with the licence "Active" and the domain listed. It names them without their offers, as our Ontario page does, because a British offer comes with "significant terms" (the conditions shown next to every promotion) that belong on the operator's page, where they are kept up to date.
Readers who connect from the United Kingdom see this page in place of our international lists, whose casinos hold licences from Malta, Curaçao or Kahnawake that count for nothing in Britain. Who we are, and how the commission works, is told on our About page, and the questions that readers ask most often are answered on our FAQ page.
The Gambling Commission, in one honest paragraph
British online gambling rests on two laws. The Gambling Act 2005 created the Commission and its licences, and the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act 2014 extended them from 1 November of that year to every "remote" operator (the law's word for online) serving customers in Great Britain, wherever it is based (the "point of consumption" principle); the six licence holders of this page all hold "remote casino" licences dated from that very day.
Section 330 of the 2005 Act makes it an offence to advertise "unlawful gambling", so that a site like ours promoting an unlicensed casino to British readers would commit a crime, not a discourtesy, and lawful advertising must follow the CAP Code (the rule book of the Advertising Standards Authority). Northern Ireland keeps a gambling law of its own (written in 1985, before the internet), and a player in Belfast should read the operator's terms with more care than one in Cardiff.
For the player, the licence brings rules that the offshore market ignores. Age and identity must be verified before any gambling, free play included (since May 2019), credit cards are banned (since April 2020) and every licensee must join GAMSTOP, the national "self-exclusion" scheme (since March 2020), while an online slot accepts at most £5 per "game cycle" (a spin with its features), or £2 for players aged eighteen to twenty-four, since the spring of 2025.
Bonuses changed on 19 January 2026, when the "wagering" (the bets required before bonus winnings can be withdrawn) was capped at ten times the bonus, and offers mixing products (a bet that unlocks "free spins", say) were banned. A player given £20 of "bonus money" can be asked for £200 of bets at most, where an offshore casino asking forty times would want £800!
The register of the Commission (free, public and searchable by name, domain or account number) is the only source that counts: each licence holder appears with its activities, its domains and its "regulatory actions" (warnings, fines, conditions), and every licensed site prints its account number in the footer. We checked our six licence holders there, and we would advise you to do the same before opening any account.
Ad disclosure: some casino links are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never affects our ratings. 18+.
Markets: the operators on this page hold a remote licence of the Gambling Commission and accept players in Great Britain. The operators of our international lists address the non-regulated market and should not be used from the United Kingdom unless they appear here.

The operators on this page, one by one
The oldest name here is 888 Casino, online since 1997 and licensed through 888 UK Limited, the Gibraltar company of evoke plc (called 888 Holdings until 2024), with one licence for casino, bingo and betting. Next to it stands The Hippodrome Online Casino, opened in 2013 as the online room of the Hippodrome in Leicester Square and run by Betway Limited, the Maltese company of Super Group.
Three brands run on the platform of Skill On Net Limited: Genting Casino, named after the Malaysian group that also runs casinos in British cities, Slingo, home of the cross between slots and bingo now owned by Gaming Realms, and Spin Genie, a slot site of the group's own. Genting and Slingo are "white label" domains on the register (the brand belongs to one company, the licence to another), and the licence holder is the one that answers to the Commission.
Videoslots, founded in 2011 and owned by the Swedish Immense Group since December 2024, holds its own licence through Videoslots Limited. The three Casino Rewards brands (Luxury Casino, Zodiac Casino and UK Casino Club) are licensed through Apollo Entertainment Limited for their ".co.uk" sites, and they accept new British players only from the age of twenty-five, a rule of the operator stricter than the law.
The other eleven brands belong to Jumpman Gaming Limited of Alderney, a network of slot and bingo sites owned by Super Group since 2022, with 234 domains on its register page. They share a platform, a "cashier" (the payments section) and most of their terms, while Daily Record Bingo, Express Wins and Free Spins Bingo are run for Reach plc, the publisher of the Daily Record and the Daily Express; Amazon Slots, we should add, has nothing to do with the online shop!
We have not played on these twenty sites, not even in "demo". Several do not open from outside Britain, and what this page says comes from the register and from the operators' own documents, so that a feature we do not mention (a game studio, a payment method, a "live dealer" table) should be looked for in the operator's terms before you register.
What the register says about each licence holder
We read the six pages of regulatory actions on 3 November 2026. Four of them (Apollo Entertainment, Betway, Jumpman Gaming and Skill On Net) show none, while 888 UK Limited shows three fines for breaches that it reported itself. They are £23,000 in August 2024 on the use of credit cards, £33,075 in August 2025 for not treating a customer's accounts across the group as one, and £86,843 in November 2025 for a lapse in self-exclusion that, the Commission notes, let no excluded customer log in or gamble.
Videoslots Limited shows a decision of 30 October 2025: a warning, a fine of £650,000 and an extra condition on its licence, for failures in its "anti-money laundering" checks and its "customer interaction" (the duty to step in when a player shows signs of harm) between October 2023 and February 2024. The Commission adds that the company co-operated throughout and remedied the failings at once.
An empty page means that nothing is recorded today, not that nothing ever happened: Betway Limited, whose page is empty, agreed to pay a record £11.6 million in March 2020 over its handling of "VIP" customers. The register is a picture of the present, and we would read it alongside the operator's terms before trusting any list (ours included) with your money.
The licensed operators that we do not work with
The register counts hundreds of licensees, and our list is a small part of it, which we would rather say than hide. The best known names of the British market (bet365, Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Betfair, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Grosvenor among them) are licensed and absent here only because we have no agreement with them, and a player who prefers one of them loses nothing by choosing it.
Payments and the first withdrawal, in pounds
A licensed cashier works in pounds and has refused credit cards since April 2020, so that deposits arrive by debit card, electronic wallet, bank transfer or prepaid voucher, according to the house. Each operator's "banking" page lists its methods, limits, fees and times, and it is the only list that counts, because methods change during the year.
Since the identity check (the "KYC" of the trade) is made at registration, a British withdrawal skips the wait that offshore casinos impose at the first win, and the money returns to the method of the deposit once it leaves the "pending" stage (the hours in which the player may cancel it). The Jumpman sites keep withdrawals pending for up to seventy-two hours and charge £2.50 on each one, according to their terms.
A player who deposits £50 by debit card and asks for £180 back receives it on the card and pays no tax, since gambling winnings are not taxed in the United Kingdom; the operator, instead, pays the "Remote Gaming Duty" on what it keeps, raised from 21 to 40 per cent of its gaming profits on 1 April 2026. The sum is small on purpose, and the mechanism does not change with £1,800.
The protections that every licensed site must offer
Every licensed account offers deposit limits (by day, week or month), "time-outs" (a pause of a day up to six weeks) and "reality checks" (a reminder of the time spent playing), and a lower limit applies at once, while a higher one waits at least a day. GAMSTOP goes further: one registration on gamstop.co.uk closes every licensed site together for six months, one year or five years, and you cannot undo it before the period ends.
Help is free and close at hand. The National Gambling Helpline answers at 0808 8020 133 at every hour, run by GamCare, which also offers a chat; Gamblers Anonymous and GamAnon hold meetings for players and families, and most British banks let you block gambling payments from the banking app in a minute. A site that calls itself "not on GAMSTOP" is telling you, in four words, that it holds no British licence!
Frequently asked questions
Yes, in Great Britain, when the operator holds a remote licence of the Gambling Commission, shown on the public register by name, domain and account number. A site without one may not take British players, and advertising it to them is an offence under section 330 of the Gambling Act 2005.
Eighteen for every product, the National Lottery included since October 2021, and the operator must verify age and identity before the first bet or free spin. Some operators set a higher age for newcomers, like the three Casino Rewards brands on this page, which accept them from twenty-five.
Because we treat every regulated market in the same way, with the licence first and the offer left on the operator's page, next to its "significant terms". Since 19 January 2026 a British bonus may ask for no more than ten times its value in bets, and offers change too often to be copied faithfully.
On the public register of the Gambling Commission, by name, domain or account number, where each licence holder shows its licences, its domains and any regulatory action. The footer of a licensed site prints the account number, whose page should list the domain in your browser.
The national self-exclusion scheme, free and compulsory for every online licensee since 31 March 2020. One registration on gamstop.co.uk closes all licensed sites for six months, one year or five years, and it cannot be lifted early. A site "not on GAMSTOP" is, by its own admission, unlicensed in Britain.
At the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133, free and open at every hour, run by GamCare, which also offers a chat. Every licensed account has deposit limits and time-outs that take a minute to set, and most British banks can block gambling payments from their app.
Britain is, in our view, the market where a player is best protected, and the price is a shorter list and smaller promises than the offshore banners make. The register confirms the twenty brands above and outranks any page of ours; 18+ in Great Britain, and when gambling stops being a pastime, the helpline and GAMSTOP are there, free, at every hour.
